Is minimalism a key part of Japanese design?

Asked 2 years ago

I’m getting a new apartment soon, and I have been heavily inspired to go for the minimalist style. My old place had a lot of clutter and unnecessary décor. I want to introduce a more modern minimalist design in my space, but I don’t know which design would embody this.

Japanese decor is associated with minimalism because it focuses on eliminating any unnecessary frills or decors. If you want to incorporate Japanese style into your home, get rid of all those extras and focus on a minimalistic look and feel. Add a few plants like bamboo and bonsai trees as well.
