Which decorative pieces work well with area rugs?
Asked 3 years ago
Hi, I’m getting bored with how my living room currently looks, and I want to use decorative pieces to make my living room area rug look more lively. What can I use? I don’t want the rug to not complement the rest of the room and furnishings. I’d love to get some insight on how I can go about it. Thanks in advance!

If the decorative piece you have chosen is quite bright and vibrant, choose an area rug in a solid color, either dark or light, depending on the palette of your piece. You want your decorative piece to complement the rest of your decor, so choose an accent color that matches the overall look and feel of the room, as well as the color of your rug.

Décor elements such as a coffee table do wonders in complementing your living room rug. Floor lamps can help to create a deliciously warm, ambient atmosphere to your living room. Accent chairs will also help to complement the other furniture and your area rug, while standing out as its own unique piece.
