How do I layer rugs to compliment my bedroom textures?

I have a big rug and a smaller rug that I want to layer them in my bedroom. Most of the furniture in my room is wooden and I have a deep cherry wallpaper. How can I layer the rugs so I can compliment the textures in my bedroom?

Your first larger rug should be laid down straight according to the bed and other furniture in your bedroom, and the smaller accent rugs can be placed on top, at a different angle. The effect of this is that it will direct the eye to this specific area. Have fun experimenting different spots for your rug, or even move the furniture around to create the look you're most comfortable with.
