Does Persian interior design use wallpaper or solid paint?

I’m drafting ideas for my new decorating project, my living room! I want to give it a bit more character that doesn’t steer too much away from my personal décor style. I want the room to have heavily patterned wallpaper, but I don’t know if I should just use a solid paint color. I want the interior to be Persian-inspired.

It is most likely that you would use wall paper to get a Persian-patterned look, as this style is very elaborate, with rich patterning that capture an exotic feel. If you want to paint your walls with a solid Persian-inspired color, your decor, furniture and rugs can complete this look.
