Can sliding doors be considered Japanese design-inspired?
Asked 4 years ago
I have been inspired to decorate my living room in the style of Japanese interior design. I have sliding doors in my living room that lead out to the patio. Can aluminum sliding doors be considered Japanese design-inspired? Or should I replace them with new doors?

Yes! Sliding doors are definitely a traditional feature in most Japanese homes. However, not the aluminum ones. Look more for oriental sliding doors that are wooden or made with shoji screens. These sliding doors can make a big difference to the layout of your living room leading to the patio while providing more light and space.
