Are premium vinyl rugs ideal for maintaining low indoor air pollution?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi there, I have been hearing about sustainable design and how this is the new wave in the design world. I briefly read about how some flooring materials have a greater impact on the quality of air in your house. So I thought I should be more mindful and make better decisions about which products and materials I should buy for my home. I spend a lot of time inside the house, so this new information made me want to change all the rugs in the house for more eco-friendly options to reduce indoor pollution. I’m not sure if premium vinyl rugs are a good option for improving the air quality in my house.

Hi. A premium vinyl rug should most importantly, be phthalate free. Phthalates are a group of industrial chemicals that are used to make plastics more durable. They are also very harmful and can impact you and your family's overall health. Changing all your rugs is a very good idea to reduce nasty indoor pollution. I have found BeijaFlor to have wonderful premium vinyl rugs that are phthalate free and eco-friendly.
