Are neutral-colored rugs perfect for a Rustic Mediterranean living room?

I'm excited to remodel my living room with a Mediterranean theme. I adore the rustic and airy feel of Mediterranean coastal homes but need to figure out how to replicate it perfectly. I want to experiment with vinyl rugs in the new space, and a friend suggested using neutral-colored rugs. I'm curious if they're ideal for this.

I agree with your friend! When it comes to a Meditteranean palette, think vibrant and rich. Neutral colors are a good way to go for your area rugs, if you want to pair with rustic colors or hues. You can start here with neutral tones, and build up from there. Off-white or lighter terracotta and light creams are great neutral colors. Have fun remodelling your new space!
