Can I organize decorative candles and ornaments with an iron serving tray?

My wife adores contemporary Asian living room interiors, particularly the way figurines and candles are integrated into the room design. She wants to redecorate our living room and incorporate iron trays and animal ornaments into her vision. I'm not convinced, and I prefer a more subtle approach. Is an iron tray suitable for this?
