Are warm colors like soft yellows and beige ideal for a Mediterranean-inspired living room rug?

I want to renovate my kitchen and living room. I was inspired by my favorite Mediterranean destinations. I want warm colors in the spaces to reflect the warm climate. I'm looking for rugs and table runners to finish the spaces. But I'm not sure if my choice of soft yellows and beige is the best option for this?
