Can premium vinyl rugs be recycled together with other plastic materials?

My family is very conscious of our carbon footprint. We try to incorporate eco-friendly practices in everything we do. We have a large amount of plastic from my daughter's school that we're taking to recycle, and I want to include our old premium vinyl rug in the mix. Can a premium vinyl rug be recycled with other plastic?

Vinyl products should not be recycled with other plastics due to contamination. It's best to keep the plastic and your rug separate. But you can still recycle that old vinyl rug of yours. You just need to take it to a recycling center that deals with vinyl and let them handle it.
