How wide should a premium vinyl placemat be for a dinner table?

I recently bought a rectangular dining table that is 1m wide and 1.5 m long. It has a highly lacquered surface, and I'm looking for durable premium vinyl placemats I can use daily at dinner with my family. I don't know what size placemats to get that fit all the cutlery for at least five sitting adults. Ideally, how wide should my placemats be for my dinner table?

Typically, rectangular vinyl placemats are about 12 by 18 inches. The circular options are usually 15 inches in diameter. These two sizes should be just the right size for your dining table and will look good while also being able to fit everything you want to be on the table with your plates.
