Should premium vinyl easily absorb or dampen sound?
Asked 3 years ago
Our house is getting revamped, and I am looking for budget-friendly options with high-quality materials. We’re also going for a more minimalist modern aesthetic for the entire house, but I do not want the house to have an echo since we won't furnish it too much. In terms of noise and echo blocking, is vinyl a good option for sound absorption if I furnish the house with vinyl wall art and flooring?

Good vinyl flooring can actually be suprisinlgy good for absorbing sound. This type of flooring is made with a foam-backing design and flexible material. This is what makes it ideal for dampening sounds. Keep in mind, though, that you get what you pay for, so don't skimp on the price if you want true sound absorption.
