Can I use an iron tray to store bathroom essentials for quick access and storage?

My husband travels frequently for work, and he regularly brings me boutique lotions and hand soaps from his trips. I want to personalize my bathroom spaces, but I don't have an elegant way to store them. My friend suggested trying trays, and I'm wondering if iron trays are ideal for this.
