Are recycled premium vinyl rugs durable enough to be used in an outdoor area?
Asked 4 years ago
I recently bought a premium vinyl rug from a flea market. I want to use it on my patio to help bring a sense of cohesion to my outdoor furniture. Does anyone know if a recycled premium vinyl rug can withstand the elements and be used outdoors?

This depends on the weather in your area. Even the highest-quality vinyl rugs can't deal with extreme temperatures. If temperatures outside can drop to below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, the flooring will shrink or wrap, which leads to wrinkles. If the temperature can go higher than 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the flooring will expand beyond its capacity and swell. Although vinyl flooring is quite durable, you should keep your environment in mind.
