Can I take my premium vinyl rugs to the local recycling center?

I have an old premium vinyl rug from my childhood bedroom that doesn't suit my new home aesthetic. I don't feel like I can throw it away because I know it contains plastic and chlorine, which can harm the environment. Does anyone know if premium vinyl rugs are fully biodegradable? And if so, can I take mine to be recycled?

No, not even premium vinyl rugs are biodegradable. However, you can still take it to your local recycling center if they are able to handle it. Vinyl can be recycled into new products, but not all recycling centers are capable of doing so. You'll have to contact your local center.
