Are vinyl rugs antimicrobial if I want a long-lasting clean surface?
Asked 2 years ago
We’re renovating the boys' room, and I want to add a rug in their room, but not just any rug. I’ve read about how it is often difficult to clean rugs properly and how they become a breeding ground for bacteria and in-house allergens. For the boys' room, I want vinyl because I hear it is comfortable for kids, but I’m not too sure if it is an antimicrobial option for my kids to play on.

Antimicrobial vinyl rugs are a great choice to prevent the growth of bacteria, fungi, and molds. These rugs are also very easy to clean, with little chance of bacteria breeding, making it a safer option for your boys' room. Do make sure to wash the mat only with soap and water on both sides and leave to dry thoroughly.
