Is premium vinyl better at resisting hard detergents compared to ceramic?
Asked 2 years ago
I am considering vinyl flooring as an option for our new home, but I am not settled on it as of yet. So I am looking for a few pointers from multiple sources, just to be certain of my decision. I previously had ceramic tile flooring throughout our house, so I am not familiar with what it takes to clean and maintain vinyl floors. Are there cleaning products that can damage it, or can I use anything?

I would definitely recommend vinyl flooring over ceramic. Premium vinyl is super easy to clean, and much easier to maintain. One cracked tile completely ruin the design aesthetic you're going for. And you just need water and soap! Make sure you clean both sides of the flooring and then just leave it to dry. A very important recommendation is to not use any cleaning products that contain bleach acid or chlorine. These harsh cleaning chemicals can cause corrosion and ultimately damage the vinyl finish. So best to avoid the ammonia!
