Should I use mild soap to clean my iron tray?
Asked 2 years ago
I recently purchased a set of cast iron skillets and pots. I'd like to complete my utensil upgrade with a matching iron tray set. I'm concerned about their upkeep, especially the soap I should use to clean up spills and dust. Is gentle dish soap the best option for me?

Water can be such an annoying enemy of iron, so best to keep your trays as dry as possible. When cleaning, a very mild soap can be used. Take care not to immerse your tray in water. You can wash gently with mild soap, rinse and dry off immediately. Alternatively, use a damp cloth to clean off any stains, then dry off with a dry cloth to remove any moisture. That should do the trick!
