Must a tile rug have a bold pattern to create a solid contrast with the floor or wall?
Asked 3 years ago
I am planning on having a tile rug put in my living room. I want to use it as the centerpiece of the room, so I want it to stand out against the floor and walls (which are both beige). Should my tile rug have a bold pattern in order for me to achieve this?

You can certainly use a bold pattern to make your tile rug stand out, but that's not all you can do. Choosing colors that contrast with beige will also work well to create a lovely contrast. Consider making your tile rug any color that pairs well with beige, such as dusty blue, pale pink, mustard yellow, chestnut, gold, and emerald green.
