Should I use neutral colors in my Mediterranean palette to emphasize natural light indoors?
Asked 2 years ago
I've just bought a house with my wife, but it has a dark interior. I love light-feeling interiors and want more light without breaking the bank too much. I am inspired by a Mediterranean color scheme, and I want to use neutral colors on my walls and accent items like rugs. Are they perfect for emphasizing natural light?

Congrats on your new house! I think you are making a great choice by incorporating neutral colors into your Meditteranean palette. Especially since your house has a darker interior. You're going to need to bring in lightness, creating a sense of space and openness. Neutral tones work perfectly with the richness that Mediterranean colors can bring. Neutral walls and light accent rugs are a great idea. Check out Beija Flor's website for some amazing options. I absolutely love their rugs!
