Are stone tiles the best flooring for repelling allergens?

My son has really bad dust allergies and we're moving into a fixer-upper next month. For the kitchen and bathrooms, we need to think about redoing the flooring. Are stone tiles the best flooring for repelling allergens? Thanks!

Yes! Stone tiles, such as sandstone and slate are great. Having hard surface flooring is ideal for those who struggle with allergies and/or asthma. Stone tiles are durable and very easy to sweep and mop, which means that they won't attract pesky dust mites or mold than can lead to allergies. Another plus is that these tiles are stain resistant!
