What does the name Beija Flor mean ?

Beija Flor is the Portuguese name for the hummingbird and it literally means “The Kisser of flowers”. The name has resonated from our products that kiss the space they are in.    

Where is the company located?

Beija Flor is based in ‘Hukuk’, an eco village in the north of Israel.    

How do I become a Beija Flor retailer?

As a retailer you are invited to register to our B2B website: store.beijaflorworld.com. Fill in the required information and an account manager will contact you within 3-6 days.    

Can you produce a custom made mat?

Yes, we do offer a customizing service, although we strongly recommend choosing the closest size that fit your needs from our standard size chart. Please note the following:  

  • We offer the option for custom made mat only from our tile mat collection (Wabi Sabi family excluded).
  • The minimum order for a custom carpet is € 560 or 4 square meters.
  • The maximum sheet width is 130 cm. For carpet orders larger than the maximum sheet width, we manufacture.
  • A quote is provided based on the relevant size required and design.
  • The delivery is four weeks from the order date.
  • Custom made mat cannot be refunded.

Will the mats color be exactly as on the screen?

Colors may appear slightly different on every screen, whether computer, tablet or cell phone. Therefore you can expect that the colors on your screen will reflect very closely the colors of your chosen product but the colors will never be exactly the same. Further, due to the print process complexity, every product is one of a kind in the sense that no two products would look exactly the same.

How do I straighten my tile flooring mat?

If failed to flatten by itself, warmth will do the trick. Reverse roll the mat and lay it for a moment in a safe distance from a mild heat source until it softens a little. Spread the mat on the floor. Within a short, while it will flatten out completely, this may take a few minutes to an hour.

How do I clean Beija Flor products?

Cleaning and Care instructions are written on each product page on the website, and they are as follows:
Carpets – Wash with water and the detergent of your choice on both sides and leave to dry before placing it back on it’s dedicated space. NOTE – keep away from bleach and acid-based detergents.
Tile stickers – Wipe clean with a damp cloth. keep away from bleach and acid-based detergents.

Can Beija Flor products be used outside?

Our mats are intended for indoor use, However, yet they can be used in shaded patio or balcony. Be mindful as colors may fade in direct sunlight.

Are your mats suitable for the bathroom?

While some situations may be suitable, overall – our mats do not have anti-slip surface and therefore should not be used in soaking wet environments.

Can I use floor mats on floors with radiant heating systems?

Yes. Beija Flor floor mats can withstand 85°F/30°C from radiant heating systems.

Do the floor mats have a physical/chemical reaction with wood flooring?

Prior to using any coated product on a wooden floor, make sure the floor is completely dry. Otherwise, the floor mat materials may have a negative reaction when placed on a wooden floor due to the polyurethane substance in the floor coating. We also recommend to occasionally lift, move or shake out your floor mat.

Can I place hot pots directly on a placemats or runner?

When placed directly, hot pots may damage the placemat/runner. Please take caution and use a trivet or a dedicated coaster to protect your placemat/runner from excessive heat.

Flooring

First steps

For shipping purposes, each mat arrives as a roll. If the mat fails to flatten, simply reverse-roll the mat and lay it within a safe distance from a mild heat source until it softens a little, then spread the mat on the floor and wait a bit until it flattens out completely

Cleaning

  • Wash the mat with soap and water and leave to dry before placing it back on the floor
  • All floor cleaning liquids should be okay
  • Do not use acid bleach or chlorine
  • Make sure both the mat and the floor are dry and then place the mat on the floor

Special care

  • Do not drag heavy furniture across the Mat
  • Do not fold the mat! If transported or stored – either lay it flat or roll it up
  • For indoor use only. Can be used in shaded patio or balcony
  • Do not place the mat in wet environments as they become slippery once water gathers on the upper surface.

Tableware

  • Wipe with wet cloth and leave to dry
  • Do not wash in dishwasher
  • Do not use acid or chlorine
  • Store flat or rolled (do not fold!)
  • Do not put boiling hot pots pans directly on placemats, that’s what our trivets are for
  • Make sure table surface and placemats are dry before placing

Deco Stickers

Instructions

  1. Make sure the desired surface is clean, dry and preferably smooth
  2. Gently peel back a bit of the paperback from one of the 4 sides
  3. Carefully begin to stick the side facing the surface
  4. Use a dry cloth or a squeegee to gently rub the sticker on to the surface smoothing it out and pushing out air bubbles as you gradually continue to apply the sticker in its entirety.

General

  • If necessary, the stickers can be removed from most hard surfaces with no damage or residue, other than when applied directly on painted wall, in which case some peeling and slight damage may occur.
  • In case applied inaccurately, the sticker can be removed and re-applied if done instantly.
  • Do not place directly on and/or next to a fire, fireplace or stove

Are all your products available online?

All Beija Flor designs sold each season are available online. The Beija Flor website is the only website with the complete Beija Flor assortment.

Are custom sizes available?

Can I get samples before I decide to buy an item?

No, we do not provide samples. You are invited to check our products at shops that hold our collection near your area. What forms of payments are accepted?

We accept Visa and MasterCard credit cards, or Paypal. All payments are processed through a secure payment system. Please contact us for bank transfers.

Are there additional costs other than listed on your checkout page?

Purchases from select countries (view list) will not carry any additional cost other than the costs displayed on our checkout page. However, orders from countries not listed MAY INCUR additional costs such as; import duties, taxes or other customs related charges. Customs charges will be collected by the shipping company upon delivery. You may check with your local customs officials or post office for more information regarding importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to your online order.

How long do deliveries take?

Once you place your order it is sent to production.This process may take up to 14 business days.
Once your product is ready, it is packed and sent off via express shipping with DHL or TNT with the shipping time of 3-7 days.

How do I track my order?

You will receive an email confirmation with the tracking code when your order has shipped.

How do I return an item?

If for any reason, you wish to return your item, you will have 14 days to return an item from the day the order was shipped.
The item should be returned in the original box it was shipped, or otherwise well packed.
Returned products must be in an unused condition, with original tags and labels attached.
