Are premium vinyl rugs going to last me for a long time?
My partner and I are moving into a new apartment soon, and I want to redecorate a few rooms. I just found out about vinyl rugs and how great they are in terms of maintenance. They're a good option for us since we like hosting people and spills happen. I am also leaning more towards the sustainable design approach, so I need rugs that are going to last over time without needing much deco or modification every few years.Asked 9 months ago

Are vinyl rugs antimicrobial if I want a long-lasting clean surface?
We’re renovating the boys' room, and I want to add a rug in their room, but not just any rug. I’ve read about how it is often difficult to clean rugs properly and how they become a breeding ground for bacteria and in-house allergens. For the boys' room, I want vinyl because I hear it is comfortable for kids, but I’m not too sure if it is an antimicrobial option for my kids to play on.Asked 9 months ago

Are vinyl rugs resistant to bacteria caused by food or drink spills?
My wife has been saying that we should change the living room up a bit, and I suggested we get a rug instead of changing the flooring. We both agreed, and I said I’d choose a quality rug this time, but my main concern is that rugs tend to be the dirtiest surfaces because of accidental spills, amongst other things. I want a rug that is easy to clean and is less prone to the reproduction of bacteria and growth of other microorganisms. Is vinyl an ideal choice?Asked 9 months ago

Is vinyl flooring a good option to protect my baby from a fall impact?
I have a toddler who is at the beginning stages of learning how to balance and stand on her own. I am thinking of changing the flooring in some of the rooms in the house to make them more comfortable for my baby. They tend to take a few tumbles at this stage, and I want to eliminate as many potential hazards as possible, but I still want the flooring to look attractive.Asked 9 months ago

Should I be worried that vinyl rugs aren't soft enough for my baby?
I work from home, and I like having my baby near me while I work. It was different when I could have her in the crib while I worked, but my daughter just started crawling, and I don’t want her crawling directly on the floor. I was looking into getting a vinyl rug for my home office, but I want one that is aesthetically pleasing but also child-friendly enough to protect my baby's little hands and knees. Are vinyl area rugs safe for a toddler's play area?
I am designing a play area in the house for my son, and I am stuck between a few options for the flooring. I did not think that looking through flooring options that are kid-friendly would be this difficult. There are so many options on the market. I did narrow it down to budget-friendly options that don't require an entire installation. I’ve chosen area rugs for the comfort element, but I don’t know which materials are more child-friendly.Asked 8 months ago

Can I stagger different color mosaic designs to form a large Mediterranean tile design?
I am renovating the kitchen in my new apartment. My mom recently showed me a picture of a beautiful Mediterranean-style kitchen, and I am basing my renovation on that! I am excited to create my own large Mediterranean tile design, but I want to do so by staggering different color mosaic tiles. Will this make a good Mediterranean tile design?Asked 9 months ago

How much space should be left between a wall and a tile rug?
I saw a picture in an architecture magazine of a hallway with a tile rug. Needless to say, I thought it was stunning and now I want one in my apartment! My hallway tiles are white and I want my tile rug to be a dusty rose. However, I don't know how much space I need to leave between the tile rug and the two walls running alongside it. Is there a rule of thumb?Asked 9 months ago

Does a tile rug for an entryway need borders to compliment plain floors?
My new home has a very dull entryway and plain floors. I have decided to lighten and brighten the space with a tile rug! I think it will make my small entryway look more modern and inviting to me and my visitors. Seeing as my floors are currently plain beige tiles, will I need to add a border to my tile rug? Please can someone advise?Asked 10 months ago

Does an entryway tile rug need to be the same size as a standard welcome mat?
My mom and dad want to add an entryway tile rug to their house. I am helping them pick out the tiles they want and arrange them in a fun design. The one thing that none of us can decide on is an appropriate size for the tile rug. I have it in my mind that the rug needs to be the same size as any standard welcome mat. Is this right?Asked 10 months ago
